Introduction from the voice of the Beebe Badgers
Hey all, I'm Shane Smith, the voice of the Beebe Badgers and the author of this blog. Since 1999, I have had the privilege and the pleasure of being the voice of the Badgers. It has been a wonderful ride and I hope it continues for a long time to come. Here is a breakdown of the stations/groups that I have worked for since my beginnings:
1999-2000 KPIK, 101.5FM
2002 TV3
2003-2008 KSMD, 99.1FM/KTWN, channel 18
The Beebe Badgers have seen a lot of success over the past ten years. Here is a breakdown of the post-season appearances that I have had a chance to broadcast:
1999-2000: Class AAA 1st round playoff game
2000-2001: Class AAA 1st round playoff game
2002-2003: Class AAAA football quarterfinals/Class AAAA basketball 1st round
2003-2004: Class AAAA girls basketball 1st round
2005-2006: Class 5A football 1st round
2006-2007: Class 5A girls basketball 1st round
2007-2008: Class 5A football 1st round/Class 5A girls basketball 1st round
In addition to the great Badger athletes that I have seen since 1999, there have been some other athletes that I've had the chance to call their name out on here. They include:
Darren McFadden(Pulaski Oak Grove), University of Arkansas, two time Heisman Trophy finalist and All-American, #4 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders
Julie Inmon(Carlisle), University of Arkansas women's basketball signee
Tyler Wilson(Greenwood), University of Arkansas signee in football
Lauren Walker(Cabot), University of South Alabama signee in girls basketball
